Course Description
The Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Training Level 2 is the advanced continuation of the Universal Healing Tao® Qigong Instructor education developed by Grandmaster Mantak Chia within the Universal Healing Tao®® System. Building upon the complete Level 1 curriculum, the training deepens the cultivation, storage, circulation, and transmission of Chi through four advanced Qigong disciplines of Level 2 — Tan Tien Qigong, Tao Yin Qigong, Cosmic Healing Qigong, and Golden Elixir Qigong. Students develop a deeper relationship between physical structure, breathing, internal pressure, the Lower Tan Tien, the energetic channels, and the conscious direction of Chi, providing the foundation for certification as a UHT Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 2.
Tan Tien Qigong
Tan Tien Qigong focuses on cultivating, condensing, and storing Chi in the Lower Tan Tien, the primary energetic center of the body. Through specific breathing methods, internal pressure, and the traditional animal postures, the practice strengthens awareness of the abdominal center and develops grounding and internal stability. Tiger and Dragon Breathing, together with the Tan Tien postures, help consolidate Chi within the body and establish the Lower Tan Tien as a stable reservoir for further Inner Alchemy practice. The training develops internal Chi pressure, strengthens the energetic relationship between the organs, fascia, perineum, and abdominal center, and provides a foundation for more advanced energetic practices.
Tao Yin Qigong
Tao Yin combines Taoist internal cultivation with floor-based stretching, breathing, relaxation, and conscious movement. The exercises release tension, develop flexibility, and strengthen the spine, tendons, psoas, and deeper structures of the body, with particular attention given to coordinating movement with breathing and awareness of the Lower Tan Tien. Rather than relying on muscular force, Tao Yin gradually develops relaxation, elasticity, structural balance, and a freer circulation of Chi through the body and meridian system.
Cosmic Healing Qigong
Cosmic Healing Qigong develops the ability to connect the human energy system with the forces of Heaven, Earth, Nature, and the surrounding cosmos. The four-part practice progressively develops sensitivity to Chi and the ability to receive, circulate, direct, and transmit energy. The first stages establish the connection with Heaven and Earth and work with the extraordinary energy channels, while further stages deepen awareness of the Functional, Governor, Thrusting, Bridge, and Regulator Channels and develop the energetic pathways through the arms, hands, and fingers. The training culminates in practices for directing Chi through the hands and fingers, including the One-Finger Art and the activation of the Chi Belt.
Golden Elixir Qigong
Golden Elixir Qigong brings together breathing, saliva, internal energy, the sense organs, sexual energy, and external sources of Chi. The practice works with what Taoist Inner Alchemy describes as the Golden Elixir or Nectar, gathering, combining, and refining different energetic essences through specific breathing and internal cultivation methods before returning them to the Lower Tan Tien. Practices include saliva cultivation and swallowing, Hair Breathing, drawing Chi from Nature and the Universe, and Five Finger Kungfu, which develops internal power through the fingers and palms.
Integration of the Four Disciplines
Together, these four disciplines develop a deeper relationship between physical structure, breathing, internal pressure, the Lower Tan Tien, the energetic channels, and the conscious direction of Chi. Golden Elixir Qigong in particular integrates the body's internal essences with external Chi and prepares these energies for further stages of Taoist Inner Alchemy, while Cosmic Healing Qigong forms an important bridge between personal energy cultivation and the conscious transmission of Chi.
Level 2 Training Program
The self-paced training package brings the four disciplines together through three major workshop sections — Tan Tien Qigong and Cosmic Healing Qigong Parts 1 and 2, Tao Yin Qigong and Cosmic Healing Qigong Parts 3 and 4, and Golden Elixir Qigong with Five Finger Kungfu. These practices form the specialized Qigong curriculum required for UHT Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 2. Self-paced video study can form part of this educational process, allowing the practices to be reviewed repeatedly and developed through continued personal training.
Training Prerequisites and Hours
The Level 2 education path requires previous certification as an Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 1 in all four Level 1 disciplines, followed by a minimum of 6 months of Level 1 practice and teaching experience. According to the Universal Healing Tao®® education path, Level 2 additionally requires a minimum of 40 further training hours, consisting of at least 10 hours of Basic Inner Alchemy training and a combined minimum of 30 hours covering Tan Tien Qigong, Tao Yin Qigong, Cosmic Healing Qigong, and Golden Elixir Qigong.
Certification and Evaluation
After completing the required education and practice, candidates enter the UHT evaluation process. Certification may be completed through an individual evaluation of approximately 3 hours or through an appropriate group evaluation workshop, and the evaluation may also be conducted online. To receive the UHT Inner Alchemy Qigong Instructor Level 2 qualification, the candidate must successfully demonstrate and teach at least one of the four Level 2 disciplines — Tan Tien Qigong, Tao Yin Qigong, Cosmic Healing Qigong, or Golden Elixir Qigong. After the first successful evaluation, the remaining disciplines may be added later as the instructor's practice and teaching ability develop, with no additional workshop hours required for these later evaluations. Evaluation is conducted by an updated Certified Instructor or updated Senior Instructor Level 1 or 2, according to the current UHT education and certification requirements.
